The Institute of Health Economics (IHE) was represented at the 21st Nordic Conference in Development Economics (NCDE) 2023 in Gothenburg, Sweden, by Ann-Kristin Reitmann and Anne Simon. The annual conference of Nordic development economists gathers researchers from all over Europe and far beyond, e.g. from the USA and Ethiopia, providing a platform for young researchers to discuss their research projects and expand their network.

During the conference, Ann-Kristin Reitmann presented the joint research project with Clotilde Mahé, Micheline Goedhuys and Eleonora Nillesen "Measuring social norms towards women and work in Tunisia - An assessment of the 'opinion matching' method". Anne Simon discussed her project "The Human Capital Impacts of Banning Child Marriage - Evidence from Ethiopia", on which she is collaborating with Arndt Reichert, Alina Sowa and Christoph Strupat. Among many other research presentations, Chris Blattman (Chicago, USA), Martina Björkman Nyqvist (Gothenburg, Sweden) and Eswaran Somanathan (Delhi, India) provided exciting insights into their current research activities to the conference participants during the keynotes.
