On May 21st, 2026 Prof. Dr. Arndt Reichert, professor of health and development economics, and Prof. Dr. Jantje Söksen, professor of data science and financial econometrics, held their inaugural lectures.
Family, friends and colleagues celebrated the inaugural lectures with the two recently appointed full professors. Prof. Dr. Reichert presented multiple research projects which focused on Nicaraguan, Senegalese and European contexts. A particular focus was put on how social norms, lack of information and economic shocks affect the actions of individuals, in particular in precarious situations.
